In April 2018, UCAS surveyed 78,500 students to gain insight into the changing behaviours of prospective students.

The report featured convincing statistics that gave renewed significance to the influence of student reviews and the value that prospects place on the views of their peers, having been through the university experience themselves:

  • 92% of students told UCAS Media that reviews were important in their firm reply choice. Students actively seek this information from a range of sources.
  • 77% of students said that online reviews of universities by other students had a ‘great deal’ or ‘some’ influence over their application.
  • 89% want to see content written by students at their favoured universities.
  • 90% seek content from other students studying their subjects.

Giving your prospects access to authentic user-generated content and student-led conversations is key to providing an open and authentic insight to life at your institution.
